Remember the condominium I always talk about here? The one that we started paying more than 2 years ago, and waited till it was turned over? It's finally turned over, my mother in law is our SPA representative and she's the one taking care of all the thing needed. After paying the two years down payment via in-house, we have the 80% balance loaned thru bank and we are going to pay it for 15 years.

Bank loan process for mortgage is not that easy, it takes time to process and get approved. We're lucky we are approved for 15 years.  Now, our condominium is for rent and still waiting for the future tenant. Hoping to  have it rented soon coz we don't have plan on finishing it till 15th year. If this unit is already earning, we can pay our monthly mortgage in advance so we could finish the loan earlier than expected. We are not sure what to do with the unit yet, last time, we planned to sell it but we didn't. We were also planning just to have it rented so the kids can use it in the future.
Investing a property is one of the best thing to do instead of just keeping your money in bank or just spending it with nonsense things. So better start investing now!

For Green Living

I have not been minding Mother Nature that much until I became a parent. It was only then when I realized how awful, dirty and polluted our environment have become. I used to not notice anything, maybe because I was already accustomed to the trash and pollution that I see.

When I became a parent, I realized I had to do my share in taking care of our planet. I had to use reusable eco-bags when buying something from the mall instead of their plastic bags to reduce our plastic bag usage. When I threw parties for any family member, I schedule the visitors in batches so I have time to clean the utensils instead of making them use paper plates, plastic spoon and fork, and disposable cups. I learned the art of waste segregation and recycling. In fact, I and the kids have made several art pieces from recyclable materials. We were able to lessen our waste, at the same time it made a good bonding time for us.

That is how we reduce our trash. As for pollution, well, we do not use anything that emits CFC. I constantly pray also that every smoker out there would switch to electronic cigarette to lessen pollution caused by smoking. We also check up our car every now and then to ensure it does not become a smoke belcher.

But that is just my family. We should work together for our only planet.

Shopping for Winter

Fall is up and it's getting colder and colder! I am starting to shop for our winter clothes already and I started with jackets and some long sleeves. There are plenty of sale items online and I am getting crazy about it. I love the winter jackets but some are very pricey. I bought my kids a winter jacket for $17.99 each from the original price of $49. I haven't seen it for it wasn't delivered yet so I am hoping it will be nice. Aside from jackets, I also bought Ishi a pair of boots. I saw many styles and they are all pretty like pajar boots. There are some blowfish shoes also for winter and I love one for myself! I haven't shop for me yet, I wanna prioritize my kids' stuff first coz they need it in school.  Aside from these stuff, I think I need to buy some scarf and bonnets and gloves soon.
Winter clothes are pricey but I enjoy shopping! I love all the winter jacket designs and so with the boots! I wish I can buy mine soon too!

Old and New Phones

The first time I saw a cell phone was when I was in grade six.  It was huge then, it is like a telephone but it is mobile. I often see them in adult's waist, clipped in their belts and it has an awful sound when it rings. After that I saw beepers. I've been dreaming such gadgets before but I know I won't have that until I finish studying and earn money on my own.

I was lucky I was able to buy it when I was in first year college. I was a working student and be able to buy a phone of my own and better as the 90's phone. Nokia 3210 - that is my first investment for myself and I was so happy with it! After that phone, I bought a Motorola a blue one that looks like a small laptop. I love that phone and I miss it! After then I have a Alcatel. I love every phones I bought! After that Alcatel my boyfriend who is now my husband gave me his old phone another Nokia but forgot the model already. 

If you just have noticed I am not into latest phones, I am contented for what I have as long as it is reliable and durable. As long as I can call and text, set an alarm, check calendar and has a calculator I will live with it. I don't need a very techy and expensive phone. Kids' First Day of School

Classes started yesterday and that means everybody will be as busy as a bee! My kids were both excited to go to school yesterday, They woke up early, dressed up early and ate without me having a hard time asking them to. That was a very nice day for me. Everybody had a nice Monday! I wish everyday is like that! 

My daughter rode a school bus and I am so proud of her being so brave. I didn't expect she will confidently ride on it. I thought she will be scared but no, she is so brave. When she came home that afternoon, she look so tired but when she started telling stories, I can tell she had a great time in her school. I am so glad she liked it in there! Now I can breath easily everyday she's not with me. I know that when she's in school, she will be safe and will enjoy! You know what they say that mom knows best so I am letting her go and will let her live her life. I am not saying I am not gonna take care of her but I will teach her to be independent. I sitll didn't ask about the the cell phone if she can have one while in the school so that anytime she can call me or call a friend when she needs to. It is really hard to look for a phone where everything you need is there already and you want an affordable. I really should have find one soon!

 

 

Cutting Bills

I was writing bill payments when I came across with the check book balance.  Yikes!  It is alarming.  We need to cut bills, or must look for cheaper service providers.  And stop not required subscriptions.  As I look at it, the highest bill we are paying for is the mortgage.  The house payment is very important.  We never failed paying on time. 

Next is the gas.  With sky rocketing gas prices, the budget is difficult to maintain.  I am limiting my travels if they are not necessary.  Our out-of-town trips are minimized also, so to save mileage and gas on my car.  Argh!  Isn't it a rip off?  Why are these things happening?  We don't have the control because we are only the consumers.  But our spending can be controlled, right?  We have low cost insuranceso there is no complain with that. 

As a housewife, maintaining the budget in the household is also my job.  A personal assistant to husband when it comes to checking the financial status of the household.  It is not easy you know.  It is tough.  Sometimes you will get a headache just looking at the expenses.  Managing the household's financial services leads to balance living too

Mom's Bday

Thanks for the guest post by Donn Schroeder Happy Birthday to my Mom! I love my mom so much. She is the most important woman in my life. I remember sitting in front of my television watching the evening news channels from www.EXPERTSATELLITE.com and receiving a phone call from my brother. He told me that the doctor confirmed our worst fear, my mom had breast cancer. My heart dropped and I felt the room begin to spin. I do not remember putting the phone down, but I do remember getting on my knees and sobbing like a newborn baby. The tears would not stop and now I had to contemplate the idea of losing my mom to cancer. The word burned in my head and stung my heart. She was there for it all. She was there when I graduated,got engaged, got married and gave birth. She was the one holding my hand through it all. I knew I had to do the same for her. She was just as scared as I was back then. Well that was 3 years since I received that call and this birthday celebrates another year of health.

Homesick

I was wondering before how does that 'homesick' feels like. I have an idea that is is hard and sad especially when husband left and was away from us for 9 months. Few Days to go Before I Turn 30!

I am counting days now before my very big day comes. Yes It's gonna be my birthday soon and I will be thirty!!!! 2 years ago I was dreaming of a birthday celebration. I wanted it to be special since age 30 means so much to me for I haven't figured out reason. I was just happy and feeling excited I', gonna be thirty soon! Since it's been two years that I am thinking of a celebration, I was expecting I could be able to do it but there are lots of things happened in that two years. Some are good some are bad. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to celebrate my 30th birthday in a manner I planned it. But guess what? God gave me a better celebration and gift! First He gave me the chance to land in America, that was far beyond my imagination plus the bonus of being with my family. God is really good! This is a very nice gift!
